An eco-friendly approach to bottled water, Boxed Water Is Better “started with the simple idea of creating a new bottled water brand that is kinder to the environment and gives back a bit.”
Main highlights are:
- The creation and distribution of the container has a much lower (in some cases up to 80%) carbon footprint compared to plastic water bottles
- The trees used to make the container come from certified, well managed forests
- 10% of the profit is donated to world water relief foundations
- 10% of the profit is donated to reforestation foundations
This product is currently sold primarily in Michigan. However, you can sign up for their mailing list to see when Boxed Water will be sold at a retailer near you.
Now, my only personal concern is the fact that I enjoy holding a plastic water bottle because it is convenient and easy to grab on the go. Not sure how much I’d enjoy chugging from a “milk carton.” Well maybe if they added one of those straws that come attached, like the mini Tropicana packaging
